Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead the Samsung Wallet mobile app development from New York, collaborating with teams in Korea and globally to deliver features on aggressive timelines.

You will drive technical strategy, supervise remote teams, and align with headquarters while ensuring successful product releases and partnerships. This role requires hands-on architecture input and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a hands-on engineering management role.
• Expertise in native mobile app development on Android; deep knowledge of Android internals, frameworks, SDKs.
• Experience in large scale, mobile-first applications and services; preferably in mobile wallets or payments.
• Proven track record of innovating in fintech/mobile payments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous delivery.
• Ability to influence across the business without authority.
• Ability to work with global HQ direction and remote teams across time zones.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development and delivery of innovative, cutting-edge solutions for Samsung Wallet.
• Drive MAU growth and market expansion through strategic leadership of cross-functional and remote teams.
• Define and execute a visionary technical strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to guide successful product releases and partnerships.
• Contributing to the vision and roadmap of Samsung Wallet.
• Defining and articulating technical requirements for features.
• Be the technical liaison for new and existing Samsung Wallet partners.
• Create and update technical materials for Samsung teams and partners.
• Create and update architecture diagrams and sequence flows.
• Be involved in development, testing and launch status tracking and escalate when needed.
