Job summary

Picarro is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer for Android and iOS to own the mobile experience, including field-facing companion apps that connect with instruments and the cloud. You will prototype fast, ship reliable software, and address field constraints like intermittent connectivity and hardware pairing.

Responsibilities include offline-first data sync, Bluetooth/BLE integrations, cross-team API design, and mentorship for mobile architecture.

Qualifications

5+ years of mobile engineering experience with production apps on Android and/or iOS
Experience with offline-first data sync patterns
Experience integrating hardware/sensors via Bluetooth or similar protocols
Own full mobile lifecycle including architecture, releases, monitoring and production issues
Experience using AI coding assistants in a professional workflow

Responsibilities

Design and build native or cross-platform mobile apps for Android and iOS that pair with instruments and cloud platform
Own offline-first and data-sync architecture for field use
Handle device-level integrations like Bluetooth/BLE and background data collection
Mentor other engineers on mobile architecture and best practices
Partner with backend engineers to define APIs suitable for field constraints
Ensure mobile app reliability and performance in production
