Job summary

Rush Truck Centers seeks an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support fleets by performing on-site maintenance and diagnostics at customer locations. You will handle routine service, inspections, and preventive maintenance while maintaining inventory and tools on the service truck.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues with diesel engines, replacing wear parts, and documenting all work in the company system.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required.
• Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Diagnosis, removal and replacement of components; ensure proper repairs.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Inspect guards, bolts, safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document work in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
