Job summary

FleetPride is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers. The role involves shop work between service calls and possible after-hours on-call rotation. Strong knowledge of brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and welding is valued.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, may have a Diesel Technology certificate, and possesses a valid driver’s license. CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Diesel tech certificate/degree a plus, not required.
• 3+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
• Air Brake Certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
• Provide preventative maintenance solutions when appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity and prevent comebacks.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension, electrical, exhaust, steering, and AC systems.
• Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines.
• File, grind, sand and smooth surfaces; maintain a clean workspace.

Skills

3+ years experience with Class 7 & 8Tr

Welding

Air Brake Certified

Valid driver's license

Class A CDL preferred

Must provide hand tools

Lift 50 lbs

Education

High school diploma or GED

Diesel Technology certificate/degree
