Job summary

FleetPride in Birmingham, AL seeks a Mobile Technician III to master preventative maintenance and perform advanced diagnostics on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role includes shop work between service calls and occasional after-hours on-call rotation for the location.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing complex repairs, training new technicians, and maintaining high productivity while ensuring safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Diesel technology certificate/degree a plus but not required.
• 7+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
• Air Brake Certified or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine damage or malfunction.
• Provide preventative maintenance solutions to customers.
• Maintain 80% productivity.
• Train new service shop employees on procedures.
• Inspect orders for completion and quality before delivery.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filter replacements.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes and related components.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension, electrical, exhaust, and drivetrain systems.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
