Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define and drive technical direction for the Enterprise mobile strategy, partnering with product, architecture, and engineering leaders to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

This role remains hands-on with critical-path systems, mentors engineers, and ensures reliability, security, performance, and operability by embedding testing, observability, and CI/CD from day one.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of information technology experience in systems analysis, design, development, and program development.
• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Swift, SwiftUI, and Kotlin.
• 5+ years in designing scalable mobile architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and handling long-term technical decisions across platforms.
• 5+ years of stakeholder requirements management and technical solutions.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years setting engineering standards and mentoring senior engineers; collaborating with product/design and influencing mobile strategy.
• 1+ years of AI technologies experience, including Generative AI and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architectural direction and standards across the department; drive technical reviews and vendor evaluations.
• Develop strategic technical roadmaps aligned with enterprise technology plans.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement hardware/software solutions at scale.
• Act as senior technical contributor on strategic initiatives and provide architectural designs.
• Lead DevSecOps maturity efforts and shift-left testing and observability.
