Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Conversational AI platform, driving AI-powered experiences across mobile, web, and voice channels. You will manage cross-functional teams of engineers, SDETs, and TPMs, partnering with product, UX, Data Science, and operations to deliver scalable AI solutions.

The role emphasizes building resilient, scalable systems, advancing developer productivity with AI-assisted tools, and shaping the next generation of Schwab’s digital client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field.
• 10+ years software engineering with progressive technical leadership.
• 7+ years team management experience.
• Strong programming background in Java and Python.
• Strong experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience building systems on Public Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS etc.).
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity.
• Experience with building or managing enterprise chat platforms based on conversational AI platforms.
• Experience developing AI-powered applications using modern ML platforms and agent-based architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, SDET’s, Scrum masters and TPMs.
• Develop people through skills development, objective setting, and career guidance.
• Oversee software development lifecycle across multiple projects.
• Partner with product management and other orgs for backlog definition and prioritization.
• Ensure Tier 1 service availability and platform health.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of business leadership.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
