Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering to lead a team delivering scalable, secure platforms across web, mobile, and API channels in a regulated finance environment. You will own the platform roadmap, drive cloud adoption, and champion AI-enabled engineering practices.

You will partner with product, security, and operations to ensure high availability and performance while maintaining regulatory alignment and strong governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams (often 10+ engineers).
• 10+ years hands-on engineering experience building resilient, scalable apps/services on the .NET platform.
• Experience with cloud technologies and platform design patterns.
• Experience enabling AI/ML platforms or AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of platform engineers with hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development.
• Define and communicate a platform vision and roadmap balancing feature velocity with reliability and compliance.
• Provide technical direction for system design and architecture aligned with cloud architectures.
• Ensure platforms meet SLAs/SLOs in a regulated environment; drive automation and standardization.
• Embed security controls and compliance into platform capabilities and guardrails.
• Lead cloud adoption and modernization initiatives across hybrid environments.
• Enable AI-driven engineering workflows with governance, guardrails, and observability.
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple teams and manage stakeholder communications.
