Atlassian's Search Platform group seeks a Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer to lead end‑to‑end ML systems across data engineering, model serving, and monitoring. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to ship ML-powered search innovations that touch millions of customers.

You will design scalable, fault‑tolerant infrastructure, drive MLOps practices, and mentor engineers while advancing latency and throughput optimizations in a globally distributed SaaS environment.

Formación

• 8+ years in hands-on software/technology leadership roles.
• Experience deploying end-to-end ML systems from data engineering to model serving.
• Scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for ML.
• Deep experience with MLOps, CI/CD, automation for training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Expertise in Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or TypeScript.
• Public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with teammates to solve complex problems, from design to launch.
• Partner across engineering teams to drive company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
• Build POC systems and evolve them into scalable services.
• Contribute to best practices in model deployment, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Work with ML engineers, backend developers, and product teams to ship end-to-end innovations.
• Develop feature engineering for offline training and online inference at scale.
• Develop and deploy ranking models to improve user experience.
• Create tools and infra to support rapid experimentation, evaluation, and deployment of prototypes.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and resource efficiency for search workloads.
• Mentor junior team members and conduct code reviews.
