Job summary

Etsy is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Scientist to join the Recommendation Ranking team. You will work with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to advance ML-driven shopping experiences for millions of buyers and sellers on Etsy.com and the Etsy app.

You will prototype, deploy, and monitor large-scale models for personalized ranking, multi-objective optimization, and efficient experimentation.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Computer Science or related engineering fields with at least two years of practical ML experience.
• Hands-on experience in training, deploying, monitoring and iterating on production machine learning systems.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow for building scalable ML models.
• Experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, or multi-modal learning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, product managers and designers to set the future technical direction of Etsy’s recommendation system
• Prototype, optimize and productionize large-scale ML models for ranking and recommendations
• Design experiments and conduct A/B tests to validate model improvements
• Develop models to understand buyers, personalize experiences and improve feed reactivity
