Job summary

Etsy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning to lead the architectural direction of AI/ML models powering Search, Recommendations, and Ads on Etsy’s platform.

You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable solutions for a global marketplace serving millions of buyers and sellers. This role reports to Engineering leadership and supports hybrid work arrangements in the New York area.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in ML/AI, with a track record of building large-scale, high-performance models and systems.
• Deep experience with end-to-end development lifecycle of ML/AI, including training and serving at scale.
• Foundational understanding of ML principles and productionization of models.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer problems and opportunities; lead teams to research, architect, design, and operationalize AI/ML solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to define and execute a product/technical roadmap for ML.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and execution across engineering teams.
