Etsy is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Search Ads team. We build user-centric ML systems for a two-sided marketplace with 90+ million buyers, 6+ million sellers, and hundreds of millions of listings. Etsy Ads optimizes budgets and improves relevance across Etsy.com and the app.

This full-time role focuses on retrieval, ranking, ad allocation, and user engagement modeling, reporting to the Engineering Manager and thriving in a data-driven, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record applying ML to real-world problems.
• Expert in NLP, information retrieval, search or recommendations, and deep learning.
• Experience training, deploying, monitoring, debugging, and iterating production ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and analytics teams to communicate model capabilities.
• Apply latest ML advances to improve relevance and buyer ad engagement.
• Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale ML models for ads funnel.
• Conduct A/B experiments to validate model performance and pipelines.
• Partner with PMs, ML engineers, and analytics to measure impact and iterate.
