You will work with engineering, applied sciences, analytics, and research to improve matching quality while protecting the buyer experience and creating sustainable business value. The role involves identifying customer problems, determining how ML can help, and making evidence-based product decisions as priorities evolve.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience for a complex product area.
• Meaningful product experience with machine learning retrieval and ranking systems.
• Experience partnering with ML engineers, data scientists, and analysts on a production ML product.

Responsibilities

• Set product direction and a sequenced roadmap for promoted recommendations.
• Understand buyer decision journey and business context to identify problems worth solving.
• Partner with ML engineers, data scientists, and researchers to define objectives and evaluation plans.
• Lead discovery and experimentation using offline data and online experiments.
• Improve retrieval and ranking of promoted listings using signals within constraints.
• Align Etsy products across teams to unify organic and promoted experiences.
• Translate complex system behavior into clear product decisions and priorities.
• Evaluate impact on buyer quality and marketplace trust beyond isolated metrics.
