Job summary

Sift is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Machine Learning Platform, a backfill role that focuses on modernizing a foundational platform. You will guide a team of ML platform engineers and data scientists to train, evaluate, and serve ML models in production, while maintaining a focus on fast, trustworthy results for high-stakes customer engagements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in people leadership.
• Deep fluency in ML systems: training pipelines, feature eng, model serving.
• Proven track record with enterprise customer engagements or POVs.
• Experience reducing technical debt in large, high-traffic systems.
• Experience designing or scaling evaluation frameworks for ML models.
• Ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap, execution, and quality of ML platform systems in production.
• Review designs, unblock engineers on hard problems, advise on architecture.
• Drive customer POVs and translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Reduce technical debt across the ML platform while delivering new features.
• Build evaluation frameworks for quick, trustworthy model signals.
• Automate repeatable ML lifecycle processes across training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.
• Partner with Data Science, Core Infra, Product, and Customer Success.
