Job summary

Spring Health is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale a centralized AI platform and services. The role involves collaborating with AI teams, maintaining critical tools, and driving GenAI adoption across the organization.

You will work in a hybrid San Francisco-based role, with 2–3 days in the office weekly, and occasional team on-sites. 4–6 years of Python experience with GenAI is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• 4-6 years of Python development experience with GenAI and ML libraries.
• Experience maintaining and configuring engineering tools, including deployment within a Kubernetes stack.
• Experience driving the adoption of generalized platforms with focus on improving internal Developer Experience (DX).
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and communicate complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the AI platform, tooling, and best practices.
• Monitor uptime of critical AI and ML tools to ensure high availability.
• Prioritize backlog to drive internal adoption of GenAI platform.
• Lead on-call rotations and participate in cross-functional AI working groups.
• Refactor key platform services to enforce centralized coding standards.
• Consult on MLOps and modernize practices.
• Collaborate with ML teams to accelerate adoption of AI platform offerings.
• Troubleshoot cloud (AWS/Azure) and Kubernetes infrastructure issues.
• Identify process optimizations balancing feature development and operations.
