Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the LEAP group in the MacCready Works division. You will develop computer vision and ML solutions for defense and commercial applications, spanning requirements, design, prototyping, testing, and verification.

The role requires strong Python/C++ skills, PyTorch, and experience with Nvidia CUDA/TensorRT. The position emphasizes end-to-end development, including experimentation, data analysis, and integration into aircraft

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field plus 5+ years in ML/CV.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of CV experience.
• Proficiency with Python and C/C++.
• Proficiency with PyTorch.
• Proficiency with OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Familiarity with Nvidia tools (CUDA, JetPack, TensorRT).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize algorithms.
• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis on large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision/ML algorithms for object detection, classification, localization, and tracking for real-time ATR.
• Perform data science to inform data collection, labeling, and training of DL models; design experiments to validate models.
• Write and test software to integrate ML algorithms into aircraft or other systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
