Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Centreville, VA is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the LEAP group within MacCready Works.

You will develop computer vision and ML solutions for defense and commercial applications, covering object detection, classification, localization, and tracking, from requirements to validation. The role requires a Bachelor's with 5+ years in ML/vision; proficiency in Python, C/C++, PyTorch; CUDA, Linux, OpenCV; and experience deploying to NVIDIA GPUs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics with 5+ years in ML/vision.
• 5-8 years of computer vision experience.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++.
• Proficient with PyTorch.
• Proficient with OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas.
• Familiar with Linux.
• Familiar with CUDA, JetPack, TensorRT and Nvidia GPUs deployment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize algorithms.
• Able to perform exploratory data analysis on large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision and ML algorithms for real-time ATR on sensors.
• Perform data science to inform data collection, labeling, and training.
• Analyze ML models and rank by success probability on new data.
• Set objectives and develop models with metrics to track progress.
• Write and test software to integrate ML into aircraft or other systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
