Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the LEAP group within the MacCready Works division. You will help develop computer vision and ML capabilities for defense and commercial applications, including real-time ATR and data-driven model development.

The role involves end-to-end development, on-site experimentation, and significant travel (CONUS/OCONUS). U.S. Citizenship and DoD clearance requirements apply, with location flexibility to Minneapolis, MN or Centreville, VA.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 2+ years of relevant ML/CV experience.
• Experience in computer vision, ML, or data analysis.
• Proficiency with Python; familiarity with C/C++ and Linux.
• Experience with PyTorch and NVIDIA tools (CUDA, TensorRT) and deployment on GPUs.

Responsibilities

• Support development of CV/ML algorithms for real-time ATR from diverse sensor data.
• Train models with labeled data and validate data selection and algorithm design.
• Analyze ML algorithms and rank by success probability on new data; set objectives and metrics.
• Write and test software to integrate ML algorithms into aircraft or other systems.
