Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Machine Learning Engineer III to join the R&D group and develop computer vision detection, classification, localization, and tracking solutions for defense and commercial applications. You will work in small focused teams leveraging ML, CV, optimization, and visual tracking.

Responsibilities include requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, and test/validation across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Vision and Machine Learning or equivalent
• 5–8 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with C/C++ and MATLAB
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems
• Proficiency with ML frameworks and Python libraries

Responsibilities

• Develop CV/ML algorithms for detection, localization, and tracking
• Integrate ML into aircraft or robotic systems
• Explore data, visualize distributions, and identify data issues
• Design experiments to validate ML models
• Manage hardware, data, and personnel to meet deadlines
• Analyze model errors and improve methods
