A leading mapping company in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time Pilot to operate aircraft for aerial photo missions in support of mapping and LiDAR projects. The Pilot in Command will be responsible for flight operations, coordinating with authorities, and maintaining flight records. Candidates should have a minimum of 1500 flying hours, an active commercial pilot's license, and the ability to travel throughout North America. Competitive hourly pay and benefits provided.

The Pilot (PIC) operates aircraft to fly aerial photo missions in support of mapping and LiDAR projects. As Pilot in Command of the aircraft, the pilot directs onboard crew to ensure safe and efficient acquisition missions. Responsibilities include performing flight operations within schedule and budget; coordinating with authorities to obtain flight permission/clearance within restricted or Class B airspace; maintaining flight records; Training other pilots and advising supervisor of any equipment maintenance requirements or safety concerns.
The Pilot is responsible for determining the aircraft is in an airworthy condition prior to flight and operating the assigned aircraft. The PIC is directly responsible for the safety of any passengers, crew, and cargo. The decision regarding whether a flight may be safely completed rests with the PIC, who is the final authority regarding operation of the Sanborn aircraft. The PIC must comply with the Flight Operations Manual directives and FAA regulations.
Position workflow is travel and field work 2-3 weeks engaged to work every day then ten days off on a rotation schedule. Position is considered part-time in total work hours per year. All company travel and daily meal per diem is company paid.

Hourly Pay Range: $28-38 hr
