Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer – 3D Perception to advance BEV perception and production ML solutions for autonomous trucks. You will design, train, and deploy models that enhance environmental understanding, model robustness, and system performance across Torc’s autonomy stack.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with software, infra, and autonomy teams, and contribute to scalable training pipelines and tooling to accelerate iteration and deployment.

Qualifications

• Production ML models for computer vision, perception, robotics or autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills with production-quality code.
• Experience training, evaluating, and improving deep learning models on large datasets.
• Experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production ML models for Torc’s perception systems.
• Own end-to-end model development from data prep to deployment.
• Write production-quality ML code to support scalable training and inference.
• Analyze model performance, identify failure modes, and improve robustness.
• Develop perception models using multi-modal sensor data (camera/3D).
• Collaborate with software, infra, and autonomy teams to integrate models.
• Improve training pipelines and data workflows to speed iteration.
• Mentor junior engineers on ML implementation and experimentation.
