Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking an experienced ML engineer for perception systems to design, train, and deploy production-grade models. You will work on camera and 3D perception, data pipelines, and multi-modal sensor fusion to enable autonomous trucking solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field with 6+ years of experience; or Master's with 3+ years, or Ph.D. with 1+ year.
• Experience developing production ML models for perception, computer vision, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and PyTorch programming skills with production-quality ML code.
• Experience training and improving deep learning models on large-scale datasets, image-based or 3D perception systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production machine learning models for Torc's perception systems.
• Own end-to-end model development from data prep to evaluation and deployment.
• Write production ML code to support scalable training, evaluation, and inference workflows.
• Analyze model performance, identify failure modes, and iterate for robustness and generalization.
• Develop and optimize perception models using multi-modal sensor data (camera and 3D).
• Collaborate with software engineers and autonomy teams to integrate models into production software.
• Support improvements to training pipelines, data workflows, and tooling for faster iteration.
• Mentor junior engineers on ML best practices.
