Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Critical Systems Technician IV to support mission-critical electrical services in the DFW area. You will oversee installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of power distribution equipment across data centers while traveling up to 50% of the time.

The role requires strong knowledge of low/medium voltage switchgear, relays, and testing, plus experience with UPS systems, batteries, and monitoring equipment.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent is preferred.
• Associates/bachelor’s in electronics or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of mission critical electrical experience required.
• Experience with UPS, switchgear, batteries, monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs with sales and PMs to define field scope.
• Interface with services team to ensure spec compliance.
• Provide job-specific technical support.
• Interface with factory to resolve site issues.
• QA/QC of power distribution equipment.
• Create MOPs, SOPs and EOPs for critical power systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on contracted gear.
• Install and service all power distribution equipment.
• Troubleshoot distribution and transmission controls.
• Test low/med/high voltage switchgear and panels.
• Read relay settings and logic for operation.
• Provide status reports to PM and Director.
