Job summary

APEX TK LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced Performance Analyst Engineer to join our team supporting Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) analyses for the MDA. You will develop and apply MATLAB and Python tools to evaluate interceptor performance, mission success, and engagement outcomes.

The role requires a Master’s in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and an active SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency in MATLAB for model development, data analysis, and visualization.
• Proficiency in Python with NumPy, SciPy, Pandas and Matplotlib.
• Experience evaluating missile defense engagement performance, interceptor effectiveness, and system operability.
• Strong statistical analysis, numerical methods, optimization, and simulation-based assessment.
• Experience translating simulation outputs into actionable engineering recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing government customers and senior leadership.
• Active security clearance (SECRET or above) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform performance analyses of GMD system capabilities using modeling and simulation tools.
• Develop analytical methodologies to evaluate system effectiveness and engagement outcomes.
• Design, develop, and maintain analytical tools using MATLAB and Python.
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and trade-space assessments to support program decisions.
• Analyze large datasets from simulations to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and data visualizations for leadership.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, M&S teams, software developers, and SMEs on analysis approaches.
