Job summary

APEX TK, in Huntsville, AL, seeks an experienced Performance Analyst Engineer to support Ground-based Missile Defense analyses for the Missile Defense Agency. You will build and run models, evaluate interceptor performance, and communicate findings to government clients and leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a STEM field with over a decade of relevant work, is proficient in MATLAB and Python, and has an active SECRET or higher clearance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) GMD programs.
• Advanced proficiency in MATLAB for model development and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python with libraries NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
• Experience evaluating missile defense engagement and system performance.
• Strong statistics, numerical methods, optimization, and simulation-based assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for government stakeholders.
• Active security clearance (SECRET or above) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform performance analyses of GMD system capabilities using modeling and simulation tools.
• Develop methodologies to evaluate interceptor performance, engagement outcomes, and mission success.
• Design and maintain analytical tools in MATLAB and Python.
• Conduct statistical analyses, Monte Carlo simulations, and trade-space studies.
• Analyze large simulation datasets to identify trends and improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and data visualizations for leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers, modeling teams, and government stakeholders to define metrics.
• Support design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer briefings.
• Maintain documentation and consistency of modeling assumptions.
