Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules for mining and mineral processing projects worldwide. The role involves coordinating discipline estimators, guiding large study efforts, and supporting design teams from early study through execution phases.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in estimating, mining project experience, and proficiency with major estimating tools. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Mining preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years combined experience in estimating and construction.
• Experience with mining projects and contractor-side estimating is a strong asset.
• Professional certifications (AACE, RICS, ASPE, PMI, DBIA) are a plus.
• Field experience or preconstruction estimating on mining projects is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate development of multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules.
• Lead mining studies and program-level estimating efforts (PEA, PFS, FS, etc.).
• Develop detailed estimates for mining, process plants, civil, and site utilities.
• Coordinate input from all estimating disciplines into a single cost estimate.
• Prepare basis of cost estimate reports and site-specific estimating criteria.
• Review drawings for risks and opportunities and ensure estimate defensibility.
