Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop, manage, and coordinate capital cost estimates for mining and mineral processing projects worldwide. You will lead discipline estimators, coordinate multi‑discipline inputs, and drive estimate quality across PEA, PFS, FS, and execution phases.

The role requires experience leading large capital cost estimates for mining projects, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Mining Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in estimating and construction roles, with mining project experience.
• Experience leading large mining studies and program-level estimates; multi-discipline coordination.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate development of multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules.
• Lead mining studies and program-level estimating efforts (PEA, PFS, FS, execution, sustaining capital).
• Develop detailed estimates for mining, process plant, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and utility scopes.
• Collaborate with estimators to develop cost estimates and schedules.
• Coordinate input parameters for estimates and schedules.
• Validate quantities from drawings and ensure estimate defensibility.
• Prepare estimate execution plans and labor-work plans for major efforts.
• Interface with management and clients for estimating tasks and sourcing.
• Identify risks and opportunities and contribute to risk analyses.
