Job summary

CRH is seeking a technical mining engineer to support operations management with surveying, drilling and blasting, reserve evaluation, inventory management, and mine design for permitting and planning purposes.

You will conduct drone and traditional surveys, prepare phased mine plans, and use mine planning software to support overburden plans, reserve estimates, and exploration projects. Travel and night/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or equivalent from a four‑year college or technical school.
• Three years related experience preferred; land surveying instruments, CAD and mine planning software experience preferred.
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Survey various boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for projects such as overburden stripping plans, reserve estimation, exploration projects, and documentation to meet corporate requirements.
• Promote and utilize technology and factors affecting costs, safety, and sustainability of mining operations.
• Serve on subcommittees across CRH to improve standards.
