Job summary

CRH is seeking a Mine Engineering/Geology professional to provide technical support for surveying, drilling, blasting, and mine planning for permitting purposes. The role involves conducting drone and traditional surveys, preparing phased mine plans, and using mine planning software to support exploration and reserve estimation.

You will work with data-driven information to inform management, require strong communication, and be willing to travel and work nights/weekends when necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or equivalent.
• Three years related experience preferred.
• Experience with land surveying instruments, CAD, mine planning software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Survey various boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for projects such as overburden stripping plans, reserve estimation, exploration projects, and documentation to meet corporate requirements.
• Promote and utilize technology that could affect costs, safety, and sustainability for surface or underground mining.
