Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Analyst for an on-site role at a mining operation in Upington, Northern Cape. The candidate will translate geological data and operational constraints into weekly and monthly production plans, optimize ore extraction, and collaborate with geology and operations teams to maximize efficiency.
The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with mine planning software, and a meticulous, collaborative approach to ensure safety and regulatory
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or closely related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mine planning, operations analysis, or related role in mining.
- Proficiency with mine planning software (Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik) and strong data interpretation skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term mine production plans (weekly, monthly).
- Generate detailed mine layouts, schedules, and ore control plans.
- Collaborate with geologists to integrate geological models into planning.
- Ensure plans are executable with field feedback.
- Monitor production vs plan and propose corrective actions.
- Support long-term planning with data and analysis.
- Maintain records of mine plans and operational data.
