Placements24 is seeking a Mining Engineer (Production focus) for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will optimize daily output, plan schedules, and support supervisory teams to meet targets while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in Mining Engineering and at least 4 years of production experience, with strong drill and blast expertise and proficiency in Deswik, Vulcan, MinePlan, and CAD. SA-based mining knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short-term production plans and schedules.
• Design and optimize drill and blast patterns for fragmentation and safety.
• Monitor daily production performance and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to mining supervisors and crews.
• Collaborate with surveyors to ensure accurate development and reconciliation.
• Conduct mine site inspections to ensure safety & operational standards.
• Evaluate improvements to mining methods and equipment utilization.
• Prepare production reports and variance analyses.
• Contribute to long-term mine planning and feasibility studies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
