Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Mine Manager for our client in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA. This role requires strategic oversight of all mining activities, driving safe, efficient, and profitable operations while leading engineers, geologists, and operational staff.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mining with 5+ in management, strong financial acumen, and a track record in open-pit or underground operations. A commitment to sustainability and stakeholder engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field.
• 10+ years in mining management; at least 5 in a mine management role.
• Proven track record managing large-scale open-pit or underground operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and financial skills.
• Experience implementing health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily mine operations including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to achieve production targets and financial objectives.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the mine workforce, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization for maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate with corporate leadership, technical departments, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee mine planning, scheduling, and equipment management to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track operational success.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure well-being of all employees.
