Job summary

Mariana Minerals seeks a Senior Mine Planner to lead long-range, multi-pit optimization across the portfolio. You will set standards for concept evaluation, sequencing, and life-of-mine planning, driving capital allocation and development strategy.

You will guide technical decisions, collaborate with geology, processing, and operations, and mentor planning teams while advancing optimization techniques and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of mine planning experience with emphasis on long-range planning and optimization.
• Demonstrated expertise in pit optimization, phase design, sequencing, and economic trade-off analysis.
• Proficiency with modern mine planning tools: Deswik, Whittle, Vulcan, MinePlan, Leapfrog.
• Experience evaluating complex multi-pit or multi-deposit mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic mine planning input for project screening, opportunity evaluation, and portfolio-level decisions.
• Develop high-level mine concepts, production profiles, and sequencing options for investments and development decisions.
• Partner with geology, metallurgy, and commercial teams to evaluate trade-offs between scale, timing, risk, and value.
• Own long-range mine plans, multi-pit optimization, and sequencing across deposits to maximize NPV and flexibility.
