Mariana Minerals seeks a Staff Mining Engineer with 10+ years in hard-rock open pit mining to connect planning with field execution. You will lead short- and medium-term planning, support daily production, and drive performance improvements to ensure safe, practical mining operations.

You will design practical layouts, plan ore movement, and optimize drilling, blasting, and equipment productivity while collaborating with cross-functional teams across operations, geology, and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in the mining industry, including hands-on hard-rock open pit mining.
• Expert proficiency in Deswik for mine design, planning, and scheduling.
• Strong experience in short- and medium-term planning, design, and execution.
• Drill-and-blast optimization and ore/waste planning experience.
• Strong understanding of equipment, production rates, haulage and delays.
• Proven safety leadership and high engineering standards.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for field collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and uphold standards in the field.
• Develop mine plans and schedules aligned with objectives and resources.
• Translate designs into executable operations with clear work instructions.
• Design pit, bench, ramp, haul-road, stockpile and waste-dump layouts.
• Plan ore and waste movement and manage feed requirements.
• Optimize drilling and blasting designs and sequencing.
• Improve equipment productivity and address constraints with maintenance.
• Monitor execution, analyze variances, and develop recovery plans.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, survey, and software teams.
