Job summary

Mariana Minerals is seeking a Senior Mine Planner to lead long-range planning, multi-pit optimization, and strategic evaluation across our mining portfolio. You will set standards for short-, medium-, and long-term planning and align plans with capital allocation decisions.

You will mentor engineers, influence project prioritization, and advance value creation through technically rigorous analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or closely related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of mine planning experience with emphasis on long-range planning
• Expertise in pit optimization, phase design, sequencing, and economic trade-offs
• Proficiency with Deswik, Whittle, Vulcan, MinePlan, Leapfrog
• Ability to connect technical mine plans to capital decisions and value creation

Responsibilities

• Lead technical mine planning input for project screening, opportunity evaluation, and portfolio decisions
• Develop high-level mine concepts, production profiles, and sequencing options
• Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, commercial teams to evaluate trade-offs between scale, timing, risk, and value
• Own long-range mine plans that maximize NPV, operational flexibility, and strategic optionality
• Perform multi-pit optimization and sequencing across complex deposits
• Review mine plans for technical rigor and alignment with company standards
• Mentor mine planners and contribute to tool development and workflows
