Job summary

P&C Recruiting and HR seeks a Chief Mine Geologist for our operation in northern Nevada. The role reports to the Manager of Technical Services and provides leadership to the geology department.

You will manage all mine geology and geotechnical activities, supervise in-pit analyses, and control costs while driving performance improvements. Strong data management and reporting skills are essential for technical reports and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or Geological Engineering; MBA/advanced degree desirable
• 10+ years in open pit mining
• Strong knowledge of economic geology and mineral deposits
• Experience with exploration drilling, sampling theory, QA/QC
• Proven leadership in a production setting
• Data management and geological/resource estimation tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all employees within the Mine Geology group
• Oversee all mine geology and geotechnical activities
• Set performance goals and provide regular feedback
• Supervise in-pit geological analysis and modeling
• Control costs and maximize efficiencies in geology monitoring
• Suggest procedural improvements and ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop policies for geological modeling and monitoring
• Prepare technical reports and documentation
• Manage databases and review data for production and reconciliation
• Assist training and development in mine geology and geotechnical engineering
