Job summary

P&C Recruiting | H.R. is seeking a Chief Geologist to lead the geology department for our northern Nevada operation.

The role reports to the Manager of Technical Services and requires providing strategic leadership for mine geology and geotechnical activities. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Geology or Geological Engineering (MS or MBA desirable) with 10+ years in open pit mining, strong modeling and data-management skills, and experience with NI 43-101 reports.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or Geological Engineering; Masters/MBA desirable.
• Minimum 10 years in open pit mining environment.
• Strong understanding of economic geology and mineral deposits.
• Experience with geological modeling and QA/QC concepts.
• Qualified person for Technical Reports (S-K 1300/NI 43-101) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Mine Geology group and geotechnical activities.
• Lead staff development, training, and performance management.
• Ensure compliant geological modeling and grade control.
• Oversee preparation of technical reports and data reconciliation.
• Manage databases and review production data.
