Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America Inc. is seeking a Superintendent of Mine Engineering to provide technical leadership for Nevada projects.

The role focuses on developing, optimizing, and executing open-pit mine plans, drill-and-blast design, and production schedules to maximize resource recovery and safety. You will partner with Operations, Geology, Geotechnical, and Processing to align engineering deliverables with budgets and processing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; SME/AusIMM membership a plus.
• 8–10+ years of progressive open-pit mine engineering experience.
• 3+ years in supervisory or leadership roles leading engineers.
• Experience leading Life-of-Mine (LOM) planning and feasibility studies.
• Knowledge of open-pit mining methods, cut-off grade economics, and slope stability.
• Familiar with MSHA regulations and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency with MineSight, Deswik, Vulcan, or Whittle.

Responsibilities

• Direct creation and optimization of open-pit mine plans from short-term to LOM.
• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team across disciplines.
• Oversee drill-and-blast engineering to optimize fragmentation and costs.
• Manage monthly reconciliation and root-cause analysis for plan variances.
• Develop and manage annual operating and capex budgets for the dept.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve bottlenecks and optimize operations.
• Champion advanced planning tools and data-driven decision making.
