Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America (AGANA) is seeking a Specialist, Mine Engineer for the Arthur Gold Project in Nevada. You will lead life-of-mine planning, pit design, and production scheduling, coordinating with geotechnical and process teams to optimize safety and economics.

The role requires 2+ years in open-pit mining, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with major planning tools. A hybrid work schedule and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related field is required.
• Active PE license or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of progressive mine engineering experience in open-pit mining.
• Proven experience with open-pit design, production scheduling, and drill‑and‑blast optimization.
• Strong knowledge of mine safety regulations and environmental constraints.
• Proficiency with major mining planning software and GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize life-of-mine and short-range plans.
• Deliver detailed pit designs, haul roads, and waste stockpile layouts.
• Design and optimize drill-and-blast patterns to improve fragmentation.
• Direct monthly production reconciliation and variance analyses.
• Analyze fleet productivity and run haulage simulations.
• Collaborate with Geotechnical and Hydrotechnical teams for slope stability.
• Support contractor management and readiness activities.
