Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America (AGANA) seeks a Superintendent, Mine Engineering to lead open-pit planning and optimization for Nevada projects. The role bridges strategic Life-of-Mine objectives with daily production, ensuring safety and cost-effective outcomes.

You will direct mine planning, supervise engineers, and coordinate with operations, geology, geotechnical, and processing teams, while advancing technology and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Minimum 8–10+ years in open-pit mine engineering in hard-rock environments.
• 3+ years in supervisory/leadership role overseeing engineers.
• Proven track record leading feasibility studies and Life-of-Mine planning.
• Strong understanding of open-pit mining methods, cut-off grade economics, and slope stability.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct the creation and continuous optimization of open-pit mine plans (short-range to LOM).
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers across disciplines.
• Govern drill-and-blast engineering to optimize fragmentation and manage costs.
• Oversee end-of-month reconciliation and analyze variances to drive corrective actions.
• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for the mine engineering dept.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize resource utilization and production.
