Job summary

Coeur Mining is seeking a Senior Mine Accountant in Lovelock, NV, to lead month-end close, prepare journal entries, and analyze variances. You will maintain internal controls, support audits, and collaborate with operations, engineering, procurement and finance teams.

The role requires 5–7 years of accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Oracle/ADP. Relocation and excellent benefits are offered, with a competitive AIP and 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related equivalent.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in general accounting.
• 2–3 years of staff supervision experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and public company reporting.
• Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, production, and general mine operations accounting procedures.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience working in Oracle and ADP environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process for the mine site, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate and timely.
• Prepare journal entries, including reclassifications and accruals and corrective entries.
• Prepare account analyses to support financial statement accuracy and audit readiness; prepare reports and reconciliations.
• Analyze cost variances monthly between actuals, forecasts, and budgets across accounts and cost centers.
• Maintain accounts payable, record invoices, and ensure timely payments including weekly cash calls; manage royalties.
• Monitor internal controls specific to mine site accounting and participate in control reviews; support SOX compliance.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing deliverables and coordinating requests.
• Prepare and maintain tax calculations and filings including mining and local taxes.
• Oversee capital project reporting, scenarios and AFE submissions; support system upgrades and process improvements.
• Perform periodic warehouse and asset counts; oversee inventory valuation and payroll accruals.
• Foster collaboration with operations, engineering, procurement, maintenance and corporate finance.
