Freeport-McMoRan's Climax Molybdenum in Colorado near Leadville is seeking an Accountant I to support close processes, journal entries, and financial analysis. Based in Climax, CO, you’ll join a team responsible for accurate reporting in a historic mining region.

Applicants should have a high school diploma with 4 years accounting experience or an associate/bachelor degree in accounting or finance. On-site staff receive housing allowance and comprehensive benefits as part of a competitive total

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 4 years accounting experience including on-the-job training or certifications.
• Associate degree in Accounting/Finance with 2 years accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or closely related area.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries and perform financial analysis during close.
• Complete assigned duties in the close process and apply accounting policies.
• Perform analysis and reconciliation through system queries and research.
• Communicate month-end variances to supervisor and outline action items.
• Assist in accounting and reporting activities and special projects.
