Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Accountant I to join the Finance Shared Service team in Henderson, NV. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close, while supporting multiple entities across Nevada.

The role offers growth across accounting support functions and requires a proactive, detail-focused approach. Work includes handling daily transactions, bank wires, and collaboration with various sites and departments within the Barrick organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance.
• 1–5 years' related accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting and business implications required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with General Ledger software.
• Organized, efficient, analytical, and detail oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Spanish communication skills appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional accounting and financial expertise to sites.
• Prepare presentation and financial analyses.
• Promote cost controls and efficiency in conduct of business.
• Assist with general ledger accounting; prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close process and quarterly audits and financial templates.
• Review costs for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements and reports.
• Track daily transactions in multiple bank accounts and entities; manage bank wires.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable as needed.
• Adhere to Barrick accounting policies and internal controls.
