Job summary

Origin Mining Company is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support various business functions within a mining-focused organization. The role reports to the Controller and emphasizes strong communication and technical accounting skills.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and familiarity with IFRS. Proficiency in Excel and an ERP system is required, with a preference for mining/manufacturing industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; associate’s considered with relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience; GAAP knowledge required.
• Experience with IFRS preferred; mining/manufacturing/construction industry desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare general journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Maintain balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate/reconcile items promptly.
• Maintain recurring schedules and continuity schedules for the general ledger.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, analyses, and budget-to-actual variance explanations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Partner with operations to ensure accurate recording of inventory and operating costs.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and AR/AP functions as needed.
• Maintain Fixed Assets subledger and related processes.
• Utilize Excel to analyze financial data and support business decisions.
• Maintain professionalism and clear communication with stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
