Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Rockford, IL, seeks an Applications / Product Engineer with MIM or powder metals experience. The role focuses on designing and promoting new products, supporting sales, and guiding product launches through manufacturing gates.

As part of the Advanced Technology Engineering Team, you will plan development, interface with customers, and lead quotations, design changes, and prototype production efforts to enable successful market introductions.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIM (metal injection molding) or powder metallurgy is required.
• Strong design skills and CAD capability, including marked prints/modifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering quotations for manufacturing new products (materials, operations, tooling, gauging, capital costs).
• Recommend manufacturability improvements for customer components using MIM.
• Lead manufacturing and delivery of engineering and prototype samples.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and represent them internally.
• Lead APQP activities through Gate 1 and participate through Gate 5.
