Job summary

MDS Staffing in Rockford, IL is seeking an Applications / Product Engineer to drive the design and promotion of new products and applications. The role provides technical support to sales and product launch teams to ensure successful manufacturing approvals and market introduction.

The ideal candidate will bring MIM or powder metals experience, strong design skills, and proven ability to interface with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIM or powder metals required for product engineering.
• Ability to design for manufacturability and interface with customers.
• Strong understanding of design processes and CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering quotations for new products including materials, processes, tooling and capital costs.
• Recommend design changes to ensure manufacturability with MIM technology and modify CAD prints as needed.
• Lead manufacturing and delivery of engineering and proto-type samples.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and coordinate with internal teams.
• Lead APQP activities through Gate 1 and participate through Gate 5.
