Job summary

IREN is seeking a Senior Millwright in Sweetwater, TX to lead the installation, alignment, commissioning, and startup of direct-to-chip liquid-cooled data center systems. You’ll supervise crews, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality across rotating equipment and large hydronic networks.

The role requires extensive experience with chiller plants, exacting alignment, and familiarity with IDM/CDU interfaces, with on-site, rotating shift work and a competitive rewards package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Millwright journeyman certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in millwright or mechanical installation; at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience leading field crews and managing subcontractors on complex projects.
• Strong background with large chiller plants and hydronic systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs; laser alignment preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise millwright crews, subcontractors, and vendors on-site.
• Be SME for mechanical equipment installation and precision alignment.
• Plan daily activities, manpower, and crew assignments.
• Enforce site safety standards and zero-incident culture.
• Oversee installation of chiller plants, cooling towers, pumps, and CDU interfaces.
• Coordinate DT-Chip cooling interfaces with CDU integration.
• Maintain installation schedules and coordinate across trades.
• Support commissioning activities, QA/QC, and system startup.
