Job summary

IREN is seeking a Commissioning Supervisor - Mechanical in Sweetwater, TX to lead the installation, testing, and startup of HVAC, liquid cooling, and piping systems for high-performance data centers. You will oversee hands-on commissioning, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in mechanical commissioning or construction management, with at least 2 years in data center environments.
• OSHA-30 certification or to be obtained within six months of hire.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems including high‑efficiency HVAC, chilled water, precision cooling, and liquid cooling technologies.
• Proficiency interpreting P&IDs, drawings, commissioning scripts and Change Management plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
• Verify installations against design specs, performance benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure accurate installation, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues during startup, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Develop and implement Lockout/Tagout procedures for safe energization and operation.
• Conduct inspections to confirm compliance with project specs and safety protocols.
• Document inspection results and counsel on corrective actions.
