Job summary

IREN is seeking a Chiller Specialist to own the central utility plant operations at its West Texas and Oklahoma campuses. This senior role manages centrifugal and screw chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and water treatment, while mentoring Chiller Technicians and guiding procedures on complex outages.

The individual leads compliance, change control, and safety programs, coordinating with vendors and ensuring uptime for AI compute workloads.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience maintaining large-tonnage chiller plants, with 3+ years in mission-critical environments.
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification is required.
• Experience with centrifugal and screw chillers from major OEMs (Trane, Carrier, York/Johnson Controls, Daikin).
• Direct experience with liquid cooling infrastructure and precision process cooling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and own chiller plant operations across campuses.
• Maintain direct-to-chip and immersion cooling systems with CDUs and loops.
• Lead mechanical PM programme and interpret vibration, thermal, and oil analyses.
• Act as incident commander for thermal events and lead corrective actions.
• Author and peer-review MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for mechanical work.
