Job summary

IREN is seeking a Commissioning Supervisor - Mechanical to lead on-site installation, testing, and startup of mechanical systems in our high-performance data centers in Childress, TX. You will oversee HVAC, liquid cooling infrastructure, and piping, ensuring safety, quality, and performance across projects.

The role requires hands-on commissioning, strong leadership, and collaboration with design engineers, field teams, and clients to deliver integrated, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical commissioning or construction management, with at least 2 years in data center or mission-critical environments.
• OSHA-30 certification (or must be obtained within six months of hire).
• Advanced understanding of OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including high-efficiency HVAC, chilled water, precision cooling, and liquid cooling technologies (e.g., CDU, immersion cooling, direct-to-chip).
• Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, commissioning scripts, and Change Management plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
• Verify mechanical installations against design specifications, performance benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure accurate installation, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during startup, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Develop and implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe energization and operation of mechanical systems.
• Conduct walk-through inspections to confirm compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
• Inspect materials, manufactured components, and installation practices for adherence to contract and code requirements.
• Document inspection results, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of non-compliant issues.
